The three cask types of American White Oak casks, Traditional casks and Ex-Sherry casks have been married in varying proportions to produce three unique whiskies: Distiller’s Reserve, White Oak Reserve and Rare Cask. It brings a complex array of fruity aromas to the nose and palate, all delivered with the balance and smoothness that the distillery is famous for. Distiller's Reserve is the cornerstone of the range, exemplifying the skills the makers have mastered through decades of experience. We’ve evolved the packaging to highlight the quality of the whisky inside the bottle, and make it more approachable to consumers worldwide.Originally released as part of Glenlivet's Travel Retail market offering, the Triple Cask Matured Distiller's Reserve expression brings together whisky matured in three different types of cask. As the pinnacle of our Triple Cask Series, Rare Cask, which will replace Master Distiller’s Reserve Small Batch has a very high proportion of hand-selected first filled ex-sherry casks and is bottled and released in individually numbered small batches. Pepper, fruit and sweets notes make themselves known as you sip this 20-year-old whisky from the Speyside distillery. The master distiller has ensured that the whiskies from the three different casks have an equal impact on the taste to ensure this balance of flavours.

The nose has lots of ginger and orchard fruits with some honey, leading onto the beautiful palate with oodles of spiced orange marmalade, ginger and anise. The Glenlivet DISTILLER'S RESERVE Triple Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky gets its special sweet yet spicy taste from a maturation process that takes place in 3 different casks.

The Speyside single malt Scotch has a high proportion of whisky drawn from first-fill American white oak casks. This Lagavulin 1981 is a special Distiller's Edition that was distilled in 1981 at the Islay based distillery before being matured in Sherry casks and then bottled in 2000. Originally released as part of Glenlivet's Travel Retail market offering, the Triple Cask Matured Distiller's Reserve expression brings together whisky matured in three different types of cask - traditional casks, American white oak casks and ex-sherry casks. It was the third vintage released by the distillery and its aesthetics, nose and palate are equally special.
